At Work with Mum and Dad

Well here's Friday, what do you do on a hot day when your 7 and you go into work with your mum, and you just can't cool down cause its 40 degrees and the aircon is just not cooling you down and even though its on its still at least 35 inside. You change into your swimmers of course and then you get one of the boys to turn on the fire hose and fill a tub with cold water and create a makeshift dipping pool to keep yourself cool. Have to say that I was mighty jealous of her pool, could have done with one of those for myself.

Happy Australia Day

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY EVERYBODY!!

We had a slow start to the day this morning after an awesomely late night last night. Bella was up early though and ready to go and bounce on the trampoline this morning, I said no way honey its too early, she didn't want to come back to bed with me, so said that it was okay for her to go and lie on her lounge and watch some cartoons for a while so that's exactly what she did while I went back to bed and caught up on a bit of sleep.

When I got up there she was sound asleep on the lounge oohhh bliss!!!

We had a lovely Australia Day around at mum and dads, catching up with Rich and Val, Stacy and Katie our favourite Travel Agent. Lots of laughs some good Aussie Lamb Roast fresh from the Weber and Pavlova's as made by Bella and I.

Bella got to wear the dress that she was so excited to be going to wear in Bali last year, but didn't get to as she was in Hospital here in Perth, was a much nicer Australia day for all of us this year that's for sure.

Australia Day Eve

Tonight we headed to Rochelle and Glen's for a pre Aussie Day Sausage sizzle, with the neighbours, had an early start, getting there about 5pm for an early night for the kids. Well said early night resulted in us getting home after 1am oh dear, had a fantastic night with great friends, time certainly does fly when your having fun.

A big thumbs down to their neighbour though who is definitely a party pooper, knocking on the door telling us to turn the music down, hello we had kids asleep on the lounge, our music was not loud at all you silly woman. How very un-Australian of you not caring if it was Australia Day or not.

The boys had a fun time, especially with a packet of sparklers as you can see above.

Dance Like No-ones Watching

Well you can if your mum isn't called Jo, and constantly has either a camera or an iPhone in her hand, or your daugher is called Bella and is constantly dancing and posing in front of said camera or iPhone.

Bella was enjoying dressing up in her new dancing outfit and doing a bit of dancing while watching an episode of Glee.

She really loves to dance and is looking forward to her classes starting again in a couple of weeks time. In fact she has picked up another class this year and is now doing Hip Hop on Thursdays.

We Love Lego

Especially the girly type sets that we were lucky enough to find when we were in the USA 2 years ago, haven't seen much of it here though which is a shame, I know you can get some pink buckets though so that is cool. Nothing beats pink Lego in this household, except pink Lego together with horses, dogs and houses.

Well this morning Bella was up bright and early and got busy with her Lego again, Lego was always a favourite of mine, and seeing her enjoying creating and building with it really brings back more of my wonderful childhood memories.

Tea for Two

So Bella and Ruby had a tea party in the backyard this afternoon, they had a lovely time, well I know that Bella did, she made sure Ruby was well looked after. Bella had dug out my old tea set, so lovely to see it used after all this time. I remember all the wonderful tea parties that I had with my dolls when I was around the same age.

Visit to Channel 7

the home of Fat Cat. We took Bella for a visit to see Chrissie at Channel 7 today, she had a great time having a look around, checking out the makeup room, the studio, the storage area where all the props for the Christmas Parade are kept.

Her favourite spot by far was in the studio, and she was quite at home sitting at the news desk and seeing herself on the tv monitor.

She scored some excellent Fat Cat souvineers and now has a shrine in her bedroom to the one and only.

Thanks to Chrissie for a great visit.

Air Wick Aqua Mist

I have been a lucky participant in the Air Wick Aqua Mist project with Soup. Getting to test these wonderful new products by Air Wick and share them with my friends.

I know you are thinking yeah but they are just room deodorants, but they are so much more. Air wick Aqua Mist offers a propellant free trigger system that delivers the fragrances in a natural way. Aqua Mist contains no artificial gases and the fragrances are light and ever so fresh.

Aqua Mist offers a light mist in three wonderful fragrances, Fresh Waters, Wild Lavender & Mountain Breeze and my personal favourite rain Forest & Jungle Splash.

I am sure once you try these you will not look back, Aqua Mist is so natural it is safe to use on fabrics.

I find a light spray in my house is all I need to have it smelling clean and fresh, does wonders in the laundry where our Ruby sleeps, no more doggy smells.

So do yourself a favour and give it a go.

Zach's 6th Birthday

Took Bella and Chloe to Zach's 6th Birthday today, they had a lovely time enjoying the festivities.

Then it was time for Bella to go to her swimming lessons, then time for us to drop Chloe back home again.

Was an absolute pleasure to have Miss Chloe stay with us, the girls had such a wonderful time and we look forward to the next one.

Hanging with the Girls

Well we have Chloe staying with us for a couple of days, these 2 girls are really BFF's, only one day separates them in birth days and they have been friends for almost 8 years now, where has the time gone.

We lost a crazy crab this morning, so we will be off to the pet shop later on.

We stopped in at Bunnings to return a fan that was damaged from work, must give 2 thumbs up for their excellent service and no hassle return. A lady from Funky Fitness came up to us who was doing a kids activity there, involving physical activities and games, so the girls headed off eagerly to take part in the workshop giving me 1/2 an hour to have a wander around which is exactly what I did. Ran into Helen and Nathaniel while I was there, so we ended up sitting down and having a bite to eat while the kids had a play in the Playground and lunch.

Next it was off to City Farmers which was great, the new store is fantastic and so much to look at, we managed to find 2 new crabs, Abrigail and Ben as in Ben 10, now Abrigail I think should be Abigail, but the girls convinced me it was Abrigail, who I have nick named Crabrigail.

Needed to get some food before heading home so Abrigail had a fun outing to Coles, she was on her best behaviour for her outing, the girls thought it was very funny indeed.

We finished the day off with a trip to Time Zone and then we caught up with Andrew and went and saw Yogi Bear, the girls loved it and, for me it bought back a lot of childhood memories and there were quite a few laughs in there.

Bella's Coming Home Today

Bella is due home from Mornie and Nonno's this afternoon, and then Chloe is coming for a couple of days of sleep over and fun. Bella has been so excited and has asked for weeks when Chloe is coming, she is going to get a big surprise when she gets home.

Not much else is happening, work is keeping me busy and out of trouble.

Okay dear trucks that are unloading from next door please in future do not block our driveway, we need to use it too.

Sony Dream Machine

This is something that I am coveting at the moment.

How awesome to be able to charge my iPhone while also being able to see the time and have an alarm to wake me up, so was very happy to see something that I liked the look of for a reasonable price in Target today.

It's on my birthday list and only a couple of months to go, fingers crossed I get one.

Date Night

Bella is off with her Mornie and Nonno for a couple of days R&R, Andrew and I made the most of it and decided to head off to the movies, our movie of choice tonight was TRON Legacy in 3D.

We loaded up with Coke and Ice cream and got settled to watch the movie. We both enjoyed this movie experience, the special effects and 3D was pretty awesome, the story was quite followable for me too.

The Story follows Sam Flynn, the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn the designer and maker of TRON and it looks into his father's disappearance, he finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for the past 20 years. Along with Kevin's loyal confidant, father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has advanced and become more dangerous.

Happy 70th Birthday Guiseppe

Happy 70th Birthday to my wonderful Father In Law, what a fantastic day we had, celebrating your birthday with so many family members and friends. Has been a very long time since so many members of the Macri family have all been together at the same time, last time that we were all together was just before Bella's 2nd Birthday.

What a hot day it was, but loads of cool drink and non stop pool action for Bella kept her very happy indeed, I think she spent about 8 hours in the pool with her cousins, she certainly slept well afterwards.

Food all the favourites were on the tables, chicken cutlets, lasagne, amazing salads, the cake was wonderful specialty from an Italian bakery.

Ruby Lou

Is the love of Bella's life, this dog is her constant companion and best friend, they do everything together, sit on the couch and watch tv, bounce on the trampoline, yes Ruby is quite the acrobat. Tonight Bella was out there blowing bubbles and Ruby was out chasing them and popping them.

Can't believe it but Ruby will be 4 this year, one day I hope she stops digging holes in the lawn, well one can dream can't they.

Tangled

Today my plan was to take Bella to see Tangled as we have both really really been looking forward to seeing this movie. Got a text of Rochelle in the morning asking if Bella would like to go with her and Ryan as a surprise, well I quickly texted back and said that would be great but I want to go too. So a plan was hatched and we organised to meet up at Currambine for the 9.45 session.

Bella and I got there a bit early as I thought it would be busy, but no it was quiet and so we purchased our tickets and I renewed my Grand Card for the year, and paid all of $13 each for our tickets (this card saves us so much money every year). Tangled popcorn and drink combo was purchased, and we mucked around for a little while until I spotted Rochelle and Ryan coming in, took Ryan a little while to see us but once he did he was really excited to see his buddy Bella.

We excitedly took our seats in the theatre, no fighting for seats at the early session, highly recommend an early morning visit to the cinema to avoid the chaos and crowds that come later in the day.

What a fantastic movie, loved it from the moment it started, there is something Magical about Disney they do movies for kids so well, this movie had a bit of everything and wasn't just a girly movie about Rupunzel, there were goodies and baddies and everything in between. The songs were great and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I secretly believe that Andrew would have loved it too. Bella has already asked to see it again.

A Day at Work

Today I took Bella into work with me, one of the lucky options I suppose when you have your own business, she loves it, I love it as I am not restricted by the hours I need to be at work or what I have to do, I am so very lucky and get to spend time working and with my girl, apart from the constant MUM can I do this or can you look at that I still manage to get quite a bit of work done.

She finds the time here great, watching movies, colouring, playing games on the computer or even the iPad, whose favourite is not Angry Birds, its as addictive to a 7 year old as what it is to a 40 year old. She loves chatting with the boys that work for us, and is keen that they come to her next birthday party, not sure a 8 year old party is cool to 17 & 18 year olds though. She likes going to the shop to buy her lunch though I'm not so sure about that as she has quite expensive tastes when it comes to food, no just hot chips or a sandwich for our girl no she will have a hot

Here are some photos of my desk, decorated with Bella's artwork new and old, she sure has that creative streak in her.

I also have a bottle of Grey Goose Vodka on my desk which I am pretty keen to enjoy at some stage and having it sit there on my desk is so very tempting indeed. This was a nice unexpected present from one of our Apprentices that finished up with us on his way to make it in the big old world out there.

Glass Deco

Bella was lucky to receive some of these for Christmas, we have since added to her collection and she has been very busy indeed creating some lovely stained glass artwork.

Andrew has spent some time helping her, and the results are pretty impressive I now have a lovely decorated window, not to mention the microwave and glass sliding door, I wonder what will be next, there's a lot of windows in this house.

Do you like to BBQ

I love summer I love every little thing about it, the long hot days, swimming in the pool, spending time watering the garden. Most of all I love the BBQ, something about the way the BBQ smells and how tender and delicious the cooked food is.

The last couple of days have been hot hot hot, and what better way to finish of the day than cranking up the barbie, life does not get better than this.

I did enjoy a nice Jacob's Creek Sauvignon Blanc with my dinner it was a match made in heaven that's for sure.
